How to transfer my domain away from Just Host to ETNHost?

Here at ETNHost, we recommend that you keep your domain name where you host your website. It is easier to manage, fewer passwords to worry about, better security, and last but not least this way you get a piece of mind. You will receive regular notifications from us, via e-mail, reminding you when the renewal date for your domain name is due, so you will not miss to renew it and risk your website becoming inaccessible.

Domain name transfers may take anywhere between 3 and 10 days until completion. Before initiating a domain name transfer of a domain name registered with Just Host, you will need to make sure that the following conditions apply:

• The domain must be more than 60 days old. This is not an ETNHost, nor Just Host, specific rule, but rather a rule implemented by ICANN, the organization that governs domain registrations. 
• The domain has been unlocked for transfer from Just Host. 
• The domain is showing your current e-mail for the admin contact in the Whois database as that is where the authorization email will be sent. 
• The domain must not be too close to its expiration date, as Just Host will normally auto renew domains 15 days prior to expiration. 

To prepare your domain name to be transferred away from Just Host you must engage in the following steps:

1. Log into your Just Host Control Panel
2. Unlock your domain

• To successfully unlock the domain name you would like to transfer click on the Domain Manager tab.
• Click on the domain to highlight it and watch as the right side populates with tabs.
• To unlock the domain name click on the Lock tab. 

3. Disable the domain’s privacy

• To disable the privacy of the domain you would like to transfer  click on the Domain Manager tab.
• Click on the domain to highlight it and watch as the right side populates with tabs.
• To turn off the privacy click on the Privacy tab. 

4. Update your Domain Contact information if needed (Whois Information)

• To successfully update the contact information of the domain name you would like to transfer click on the Domain Manager tab.
• Click on the domain to highlight it and watch as the right side populates with tabs.
• Find the Contacts tab and modify the necessary information from there. 

Make sure the contact info is up to date with the correct email address listed on the Contacts Tab , for Registrant, Admin, and Billing. The Admin contact gets the email about the transfer.

5. Obtain the EPP/ Authorization code

• To successfully obtain your EPP/Auth code  of the domain name you would like to transfer click on the Domain Manager tab.
• Click on the domain to highlight it and watch as the right side populates with tabs.
• Find the Transfer EPP tab and click on it. You will receive an email containing the EPP code needed for the transfer as well as a confirmation link. 

After completing the preparation, let some time pass (a day or so) before you initiate the transfer. You can also check the Whois info for your domain. You can do this at http://www.whois.net or http://whois.domaintools.com or similar sites, to make sure everything shows up and is correct.

Once ready, you can now submit a transfer request for the domain:

• Start within your ETNHost account .
• Proceed with posting an order for the domain name transfer by clicking on the Domains tab.
• Upon the request of the domain name transfer, you will need to enter the Authorization/EPP code. Once the code is entered then the process will begin.

You can approve the transfer once it all started properly. In the Domain Manager, click the domain you are transferring to highlight it. 

 

Note that you will also receive a transfer approval email to the listed administrative contact for the domain. After the transfer is confirmed the losing registrar (Just Host) has 7 days to release the domain. If everything is OK, the domain will be released and added to the Domains Section in your ETNHost account.

 

Transferring a .uk Domain Name way from Just Host 

.uk domains require that the domain registrar (Just Host) change the IPS tag as authorization to transfer.

This process can take up to 3 days. Please make sure your contact information is complete, including a Registrant email address. In addition, it is recommended that you make name servers/dns changes prior to transferring the domain.

To transfer your .uk domain away from Just Host, do the following:

• Contact your us and find out what IPS tag we are using.
• Contact Just Host via phone at 888-755-7585 or Live Chat and request that them change the IPS tag and prepare the domain for transfer. This process is usually completed within 24 hours.
• Contact your us and request us to transfer the domain record to our service for you.
