What is Software?

This is a term that describes all the types of computer programs and devices that operate on a computer. The software is a collection of instructions that allows the online user to interact with a computer. 

There are different types of software:

• System Software – operating systems are an excellent example of a system software. Simply put, this type of software provides services to other software.
• Application Software – example of an application software is a web browser or an anti virus software, or any other type of program that is designed to do something specific. Application software wouldn't exist if there was no system software.
